Orthodontic Treatments Help Enhance the Smile

Orthodontics can address a wide range of dental issues by improving tooth and bite alignment. Although braces are often thought of as a childhood treatment, many adults can benefit from treatment.

Traditional metal braces remain an option for adults who wish to straighten their teeth or improve their bite. However, many adults would like a more discreet option for orthodontic treatment.

At our Castle Hills practice, we are proud to offer clear orthodontic options in addition to traditional orthodontics. Let’s take a closer look at these treatments and how they may improve your smile.

Invisalign

Invisalign® is often a great option for those who want their orthodontic treatment to be discreet and comfortable.

Invisalign straightens the teeth using a series of clear plastic aligners. These trays are worn throughout the day and night, but may be removed while eating and cleaning the teeth.

Invisalign can be used to treat bite issues, including overbites and underbites, as well as gaps between the teeth and crooked teeth.

ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect® is another clear option in orthodontics. Similar to Invisalign, ClearCorrect treatment uses aligner trays to gradually improve the alignment of the teeth. Like Invisalign, ClearCorrect trays can be removed for ease of brushing and flossing.

ClearCorrect can correct many of the same issues as Invisalign, including overbites, crossbites, crooked teeth, and widely spaced teeth.

Clear Braces

Not all alignment issues can be treated with clear aligner systems. For our Castle Hills patients who aren’t good candidates for Invisalign or ClearCorrect, clear braces may be a good option.

Clear braces use brackets that are attached to the teeth, like metal braces, but instead of being made of metal, a clear material is used.

Clear braces can treat crowded teeth, gaps between teeth, crooked teeth, and more severe alignment issues than clear aligner systems are able to address.

Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces are still a popular choice for improving alignment issues and the smile.

With metal braces, metal brackets are attached to the teeth. Wires and band and used to apply pressure to the teeth and gradually move them into the desired alignment.

Although metal braces aren’t as discreet as clear options, they are highly effective at treating alignment issues. Metal braces can treat a range of alignment issues, from mild to severe, making them a trusted orthodontic option.
